ARIZONA CENTRAIL RAILROAD

The Arizona Central Railroad Inc., located in central Arizona, was purchased from the Santa Fe Railroad in April 1989. The route is from Clarkdale to Drake, Arizona. At the present time, the Arizona Central's primary customer is Phoenix Cement. The traffic base is made up of outbound loads of cement and inbound loads of coal and coke.

This line is laid with 90-pound rail and is in excellent condition. The first 20 miles have received new ties and ballast within the last two years.

The base of operations of this line is at Clarkdale. Two GP-9 locomotives are utilized to make three trips per week, hauling loaded cement cars outbound and loaded coal cars inbound. The balance of the available crew time is used to perform routine track and locomotive maintenance. Back
