The WesternGroup L.C. is an association of short line railroads serving businesses throughout the West and mid-western United States. The short line railroads are all independently operating entities owned by Dave Durbano, President & C.E.O. In addition to short line railroads, during the early 90s The Western Group expanded its association to include ranching affiliates.

The Western Group's business presently consists of four distinct operating segments:

1. The operation of freight services on the short lines owned and operated by Western Group affiliates and under interchange agreements with class one railroads.
2. The operation of a passenger excursion train owned and operated by the Verde Canyon Railroad, LC located in Clarkdale, Arizona.
3. The operation of a railway construction and maintenance business, Western Railroad Builders, Inc.
4. The operation of three separately-owned ranch entities involved in hay production, raising cattle and breeding quality quarter and paint horses.

The Western Group continues to grow internally by developing each segment of its present business by improving sales and profitability of each of the associate short lines, and through favorable new acquisitions and expansion.
